What is the best way to use this laptop and its generous amount of RAM for Adobe and other non microsoft programs? Is there something about the computer's registry that is different? Is there a safe OS to upgrade it to that would allow it to be compatible with most all programs?ġ. I instinctively feel that to tamper with an OS that was factory installed which this was as OEM is courting trouble-particularly since my laptop has the built-in tv tuner capability for watching tv and a host of other features I have never used that in 2004 were extremely advanced. This computer has always been troublesome with running any software that is not from Microsoft.

It runs Microsoft programs fine but having invested so much money I would like to use it for Adobe Creative Suite software. I have invested in RAM and it now contains 2GB of RAM (it started out with 512 MB of RAM).

Frankly I got it for the 17-inch screen, not to watch tv or do musical things.

It is a Toshiba Satellite P25-S670 and at the time of purchase very expensive-over $3500. I bought my laptop in 2004 before the 2004 release date of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004.
